Synopsis
This is a music video by Jon Lajoie, better known for his comedic music videos, that revolves around a young boy who watches the “Friday the 13th” movies for the first time. Without giving too much away, it makes a strong impression on him.
Commentary
The music is fine, but the story portrayed in the video is really excellent. I don’t know if they merged the boy into old footage or just re-shot scenes from the Friday the 13th movies with the inclusion of the boy (I suspect the latter), but it’s really well done and more than a little nostalgic.
Every child sees his first horror movie at some point in their lives, and it usually does leave some kind of impression; more in some than others, but the way it’s handled here is really a lot of fun. Whether you like this kind of music or not, I recommend the video just for the story it tells.
