What Happens
We open on Violet, putting makeup on a corpse for a funeral. The next woman she works on has a high-heeled shoe stuck in her neck, but Violet says she can fix that. Before she can continue, she gets a visitor at the back door. It’s Shirley, a drag queen with a major problem…
Commentary
It’s very 1970’s retro in style, which really works well here. It starts out fairly normal, but as the story progresses, a whole new world opens up. Why is all this happening? And how? It’s just weird, and the viewer must go with it for the ride.
It felt like Marvin’s story went on for too long, but the rest was great.
Also, she’s working on a new film, “The Cramps: A Period Piece.” Here’s a link to her campaign: indiegogo.com/projects/the-cramps-a-period-piece
