Synopsis
A mother and son are playing in the park. A man in car hits the boy, Brandon, killing him.
Time passes, and the mother, Cheryl, spends time in the park watching other children. Another mother introduces her own son to Cheryl. “I found beauty in grief,” she says.
Cheryl makes soup for Brandon. Brandon says he doesn’t like that name. “I liked Michael better,” he explains. It appears she’s gotten herself a new son the fast way. It doesn’t end well…
Commentary
In the beginning, it looks like this is more about grief than any kind of horror… until you notice she has four different sets of marks on the wall! I guess this is sad and/or scary if you have kids, but it didn’t do much for me.
