Pipe Screams: Synopsis
Victoria is a landlord who has plumbing problems. She calls the plumber to fix the problem, and there’s water everywhere. She calls her tenants animals and doesn’t care about the lead pipes. She hired Linus because he’s desperate; she wants him to repair her lead pipes. Something inside those old lead pipes is looking back out at Linus. Something crawls out of the pipe and kills the cat right behind Linus.
Linus hears little critters running around inside the walls, and he just assume they are rats. Something shoots out of the pipe and covers his hand. It looks like a giant hairball, and it eats all the skin off his hand. He gets it off his hand, but then it goes for the face.
“Come at me, clog!” He shouts. He catches it finally but then takes it to Victoria. At least they know what the problem really is…
Commentary
I liked it. Barbara Crampton’s landlady was over the top villain, and Eric Edelstein played a desperate, but still good-guy plumber here. The creature effects were gross, it had social commentary, and it was a good tale of good versus evil versus a no-so-simple drain clog.
Within the Walls of Madness: Synopsis
In the US Detention center, 72 hours after a containment breach. Prisoner Zeller gets a new lawyer, willing to work for his movie rights. He used to work for a remote bio-research station that studies all the weird, supernatural stuff there.
Dr. Trollenberg had found a wormhole on a frozen mountaintop, and something came through it. There’s some kind of weird pulse, lots of screaming, and Mallory is killed. They find Zeller standing over Mallory with a bloody axe.
Zeller tells Trollenberg to watch the video feed to see what really happened. She watches the footage of the monster killing the girl, but she lies about it and orders Zeller to be killed. Zeller kills Carson in self-defense. Trollenberg deleted the footage and she knows all about the creature. She wants the Old Ones to come through and reclaim the Earth. Zeller kills Trollenberg just after she explains the whole thing.
Back in prison, Tara continues the interview with Zeller. Zeller’s execution day arrives. Zeller’s final request is to be able to activate the creature that opens the portal. The tentacles do the rest…
Commentary
Nothing like a visit from the Old Ones to liven up your day. And in Zeller’s case, to prove you were telling the truth all along. Remember, “They come in through the walls!” This was good, well-acted, and exactly the right length.
